Mrs. Hyde is a dedicated and passionate educator whose educational philosophy is rooted in equity, access and opportunity.

Mrs. Hyde has 11 years of experience as an educator.  She started her career as a History teacher in the Bronx, NY, before she relocated to North Carolina in 2015.  She worked with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as a teacher at Mallard Creek High School, Garinger High School, and Hough High School. She worked as an assistant principal at North Mecklenburg High School and Steele Creek Preparatory Academy before opening the Cabarrus Health Sciences Institute for the 2022-2023 school year. She continues to serve as a field advisor to student teachers at Grand Canyon University.

She resides in Cabarrus County with her husband Joshua, daughter London, and Belgian malinois Zeus. She enjoys traveling, cooking, outdoor activities, and reading.

I have been in education for 14 years, mostly as an English teacher at Lake Norman High School. I have also worked as a school instructional coach. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership at Appalachian State University. My favorite things to do include reading, going to Broadway shows, and spending time with my husband and two children, one of whom attends UNC School of the Arts and one who is a 2023 graduate of NC State with a degree in Statistics.
