Cabarrus County Schools, Cabarrus College of Health Sciences, and Atrium Health seek to create a pipeline of highly qualified healthcare professionals who mirror the diverse population of Cabarrus County. This high school is for any student interested in an accelerated high school program, especially first generation college students.

Students at CHSI will be surrounded with academic and socio-emotional support. They will graduate with a high school diploma and a professional certification (CNA), plus a college degree (AS) or college transfer credits, preparing them for health science careers and future success.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • An Early College allows students to complete a high school diploma and an associate degree in 4 or 5 years. Students are accepted into our program the spring before their 9th grade year.

  • All tuition, fees, and textbook costs are free for accepted students.

  • Yes. Students will have door-to-door school bus service.

  • No, it is not required for admission, BUT some degree programs and their associated clinical sites will require it. In addition, students will be required to receive a yearly flu shot.

  • No. Math 1 can be completed at the early college. Grades are important, but other criteria are considered.
