Senior Walks (updated)
  • Here is the list of senior walks scheduled and that have reached out to me. If you do not see your elementary school, you may want to reach out to the school.

Spring Into Appreciation

Teacher Appreciation Week

🎉 Teacher Appreciation Week | May 4–8, 2026 🎉

We are taking it back to the ’90s to celebrate our incredible teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week! Think bright colors, fun vibes, and all the appreciation for the amazing work they do every day.

We would love your support as we finish out the school year strong. Our teachers and staff are amazing! They truly go above and beyond, and we need your help to make this week totally awesome.
The PTO has put together a wish list of fun items and treats to help us shower our staff with appreciation throughout the week. If you are interested in donating, simply click the list below; items will be mailed directly to the school for easy delivery.

Prefer to shop locally? Donations may be dropped off at the front desk.

Thank you for helping us celebrate our teachers and staff who make CHSI all that and a bag of chips!

Electronic Bus Ridership Forms

ELECTRONIC BUS FORMS COMING MARCH 30th: Again this year, Cabarrus County Schools will be utilizing ParentSquare forms to collect transportation information for families who will attend CCS during the 2026-27 school year. These forms will be available from March 30th through April 30th in ParentSquare. After April 30th, the electronic request will close, and parents will have to request transportation in-person at their school. You will need a registered ParentSquare account to complete your child's form. For information on registering your ParentSquare account, please see our ParentSquare Information webpage.

9th Grade Parents-Drug Screening Information

CCHS Drug Screening Requirement

As you know, prior to 10th grade, Cabarrus College requires all students to complete a drug screening. CHSI will pay for the cost associated with that screening if you get the test through Wolf Data April-May. Students will be bringing home a letter that they must take with them to the screening in order to get it for free. Here is a digital copy of the letter.

Summer Opportunities Reminder
Many students and parents have been reaching out about summer opportunities. I highly recommend that student apply for HYPE and other eligible programs through Atrium Health, as these experiences are excellent for career exploration and skill‑building, though they are competitive!
Here is a great another opportunity for students ages 14 and older that also serves as a strong résumé and college application booster: Wings of Eagles Ranch Volunteer Program
I am actively working with the college to identify and share additional summer opportunities while carefully considering age requirements, eligibility criteria, and other potential barriers for students.
Dress Code Reminder
As the weather gets warmer, please remember that students must follow the dress code at all times. Students who are not appropriately dressed may be sent back to the high school and will not be allowed to enter the college building.

Graduation Details
As we get closer to graduation, I want to share some important early details. Dean Corsello will be sending a follow‑up message next week with more specific information regarding graduation day logistics, including instructions, parking details, and final reminders.
In the meantime, please review the information below and visit the Graduation page on the college website for additional details:
  • This is not a ticketed event. There should be ample seating for families and guests.
  • Students must arrive at the Arena by 9:00 AM. This is a hard deadline. Students who arrive late will not be permitted to walk.
  • Upon arrival, students must check in to confirm attendance and receive any earned graduation regalia (cords, stoles, pins, etc.).
  • Students should arrive already dressed and ready for commencement—there will be no time to get ready at the Arena.
  • Commencement begins promptly at 10:30 AM. If you are late, you will not walk.
  • Graduation lineup, walkthrough, and practice will take place prior to the ceremony, which is why punctuality is absolutely critical.
Finals Week Reminder
The week of April 17 – May 1 is finals week at the college. Please encourage students to prepare by studying regularly, getting enough rest, eating a healthy diet, and actively managing their stress and mental health throughout this time. Finals can be challenging, and support makes a difference. I am here and happy to help students in any way I can.
Final grades will be posted in Sonis by Monday, May 4 at 12:00 PM, and students should review them once they are available.
