Principal's Message

short
Greetings Families,

I have updated a listing of important dates coming up. Please take note of our testing schedule. Remember, state tests are mandatory and we have windows set by the district and state. It is very important that students are present for their required test days. All state EOC's and final exams are 25% of your child's course grade as dictated by district policy.

If anyone has any questions about testing, please contact the student's teacher or me and we can help!

Spring Fundraiser-Invest in Your Child!
Support CHSI and your child by investing in them!
Cash, Checks, and Electronic Donations

We have a goal of $5000!
We have $1890 raised so far and have 1 day left!

The PTO appreciates everyone who has invested in your child thus far. We are doing great, but we have a ways to go to meet our goal of $5,000. Therefore, we are asking each parent who have not invested to date to please invest $35 for your child by March 31st, that will allow us to exceed our goal.

If you have any questions, please contact the PTO board: MaKisha, Dionne, Ericka or Amanda.

9th Grade Drug Screening

9th Grade Parents: As you know, before students can attend college courses next year, they must pass a drug screening. This is a mandatory requirement for all Cabarrus College students. Cabarrus County Schools and CHSI will pay for the cost of this screening if you complete it from April 1st - May 31st at Wolfe, Inc. We are sending home a letter that has more information with your student. You must take this letter to Wolfe when you report for your drug screening to get it for free. The hours of Monday-Friday 8am-5pm closed from 12pm-1pm for lunch.

Meningitis Vaccine

Rising Seniors!

In the next few weeks your student will be bringing home a letter stating they will need the 2nd meningitis vaccine that is required by North Carolina law for all seniors. They will need to bring a copy of their immunization record as proof that they have received it by the 30th day of school which will be September 9th, 2025. If your student does not have the vaccine on or before the 30th day of school next fall, school year 2025-26, per NC General Statute 130A-155, they will be excluded from school until the vaccine is received. Please schedule an appointment for your child as soon as you can to ensure your student is able to get this vaccine prior to the deadline. If your student has already received the vaccine, please send in the proof of vaccination and disregard any future messages regarding this requirement. -Nurse Helms
