A Strong Start to the Semester!
We’re off to a great start! The first week of classes has gone smoothly for both students and faculty. Students especially enjoyed Convocation, our academic kickoff on Monday—complete with music, food, free t-shirts, and even a dunk tank! Some of our students had a blast dunking staff and administration, making it a memorable and fun way to launch the year.
Students Can Text Me!
I’m excited to share that students can now text me directly at 704-828-6030! I will check messages only during a typical workday (8 AM–5 PM) when I’m in the office—unless there’s an emergency. Texting is great for letting me know if you’re running late or need to cancel a meeting, quick yes/no questions, fast reminders (like where to find a form or deadline) or small, time-sensitive check-ins. Please use email when you’re sending documents or attachments, you need detailed feedback or advising, you’re asking about multiple topics or you’re following up on something official (like transfer plans or graduation requirements).
**Parents should continue to communicate with me via ParentSquare or email.
CHSI Office Hours
My CHSI office hours will begin on Monday, September 8th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. In addition, I will hold weekly office hours for students enrolled in CCS105 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the college beginning the first week of classes. Please feel free to stop by during these times for support, questions, or guidance. I have a very busy schedule and may not always be available for drop-in appointments, so students can also schedule a meeting with me here:
Meeting with Mrs. Louallen.
Senior's RSVP to Transfer Ready: Your Guide to the Next Step Event:
12th grade students and families are encouraged to join me for an informative and engaging session designed for families navigating the college transfer process. We’ll walk through how to prepare strong applications, understand key timelines, and explore meaningful ways parents and guardians can support their student’s journey. While this session is especially helpful for MA and LS students graduating in May, all senior students and families are welcome to attend. Light refreshments will be provided!
If you plan to attend, have your student accept the calendar invite that was sent to their Cabarrus College email!
