Greetings Families,

We have many exciting opportunities coming up for our students. The pathway nights will continue throughout the month for 9th and 10th graders. In April, our 10th graders will choose their pathway at the college. See below for opportunities for your family to join these evening, online sessions.

Important Dates
High School Dates:

February 26: PTO @ 6pm
February 28: Stars and Strikes Field Trip (11:30-3:00)
March 7: No HS Classes; CCHS still has college classes. CCS will run busses so that our students can attend college classes. Since it is a workday for CCS, no lunch will be served here at CHSI.
March 10-14: Spring Break for all students
March 21: ACT Testing for all 11th graders (state mandated)
  • 9th Graders will be remote March 21st.
April 25: Junior Prom (7-11pm)
  • Prom will be combined with the other early colleges. More details TBA!

This event has been opened up to 9th graders in addition to 10th graders and families!
Get ready to Zoom into Your Future with our Pathway Preview Nights! These exciting sessions are your chance to explore the unique programs offered at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences and discover the amazing careers waiting for you in healthcare and science prior to declaring your pathway! These events will take place virtually on zoom. CHSI AIMS invites all students' families and Cabarrus College students to celebrate Holi with us
What is AIMS?
The AIMS club celebrates Asian and Middle Eastern cultures in our school, promoting unity through awareness and inclusivity. We organize events that encourage connection and collaboration among diverse student backgrounds.
What is Holi:
Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors, is a day when we let loose, celebrate diversity, and enjoy life's simple pleasures with friends and family. Whether you're dancing to upbeat tunes, smearing colors on each other, or just enjoying delicious sweets, it's all about spreading happiness and good vibes! We will celebrate March 6th @ 5:00-7
 What to Expect:
  • Color wars with your friends 
  • Delicious snacks and sweets 
  • Music, dancing, and laughter filling the air
  • It is a time to forgive, forget, and celebrate new beginnings
Important Information:
  • Ticket cost $10 
  • Food will be provided
  • The dress code is white

January Scholarships

Summer Accelerator Camps:
The NC School of Science and Mathematics is now accepting applications for Summer Accelerator Programs! Early Accelerator is a day program on the NCSSM-Morganton and Durham campuses and at the NC Center for Engineering Technologies (NCCET) in Hickory. Our residential programs are held on the NCSSM-Morganton and Durham campuses. We have day programs for middle school students at the NCCET in Hickory and online programs as well. Please forward this email to rising 5th - 12th grade students who may be interested in a week-long summer camp (Morganton, Durham or online) Financial aid is available for students who apply before February.  Apply Here
 
Summer Accelerator, sponsored by Dogwood Health Trust
Dogwood Health Trust has renewed funding for a FREE student program on our campus for 2 more years. We have openings for 60 middle and high school students to stay on our NCSSM-Morganton campus during the week of July 20-25th and take a summer course. This opportunity is only available to students in the Dogwood Health Trust area.We would really love to have all 19 areas of the DHT region represented. The students' rooms, food, courses, supplies, and field trips will be covered by the grant. They just need to get to Morganton on July 20 and be picked up on July 25th. I've attached a flyer. The application closes on February 28th. there will be a selection process, but families will be notified of their selection status by mid March. Students may apply at this link.
